Joe Elsinga
Quote from Shakespeare:
“A jack of all trades is a master of none, but oftentimes better than a master of one.”
In December 2023, Joe joined the Ortho Dynamics family bringing with him a very diverse background of life and work experience, including over 8 years experience as a prosthetics technician and forearm crutch expert. Being a graduate of the Engineering Technologist Program at B.C.I.T., he also brings with him over 30 years of Structural Engineering experience doing a variety of jobs, skills and roles of responsibility. Being a husband for over 33 years and a ‘Dad’ to 2 adult children, he is now one of the oldest members of our team.
Joe was born in Vancouver and has just now become an enthusiastic explorer of walking ventures within the Lower Mainland and throughout the outlying areas. He is an avid reader, especially dealing with all aspects of history. He once was a competitive swimmer within a winter swim club in the lower mainland.
As a result of his enthusiasm for swimming, he eventually got his children involved in competitive swimming. There he continued for nearly 25 years, volunteering as an Official for swim clubs and swim events. He eventually attained the status of a Master Referee which he did at regular events; including Para, Masters, Special Olympics and Open Water swimming events.
He considers himself to be still teachable and enjoys the challenge of learning new things. Born at the tail end of the ‘Boomer’ demographic, he hopes to pass on some of his knowledge and experience to others before he approaches the end of this occupation. His next full time occupation will probably be some sort of volunteering in his community.
